Frequently Asked Questions
All our garments are made of authentic 100% sheep’s wool.
Wool is a natural fiber harvested from sheep. It’s known for its durability, breathability, and excellent insulation properties. Wool fibers are thicker and more robust than cashmere, making them ideal for outerwear, suits, and knitwear designed for long-term wear and colder climates. Cashmere is a natural fiber obtained from the undercoat of cashmere goats, primarily found in regions like Mongolia, Nepal, and northern China. Renowned for its exceptional softness, warmth, and lightweight feel, cashmere is significantly finer than sheep’s wool, which gives it a smooth, almost silky texture against the skin.
We recommend hand washing your knitwear in cool water with a gentle wool-safe detergent. Gently submerge and swish the garment without wringing or twisting. Rinse thoroughly in cool water, then press out excess water by rolling in a clean towel. Lay flat to dry on a drying rack or clean towel, reshaping the garment to its original dimensions. Never hang wet knitwear as it can stretch. If you must machine wash, use the delicate cycle with cold water and place items in a mesh laundry bag for protection.
Pilling is a natural occurrence with wool and cashmere knitwear, caused by friction during normal wear. Shorter fibers work their way to the surface and tangle into small balls. To minimize pilling, turn garments inside out before washing, avoid wearing bags with rough straps over your shoulders, and give pieces a rest day between wears. When pills do appear, gently remove them with a sweater comb or fabric shaver rather than pulling them off by hand. Quality knitwear typically pills less after the first few wears as loose fibers are shed.

Merino wool and cashmere are excellent choices for sensitive skin. Merino wool has ultra-fine fibers that feel soft rather than scratchy, and it’s naturally hypoallergenic and moisture-wicking. Cashmere is even softer and gentler on skin due to its fine texture. Both materials are breathable and help regulate body temperature, which can reduce irritation from overheating. If you’ve had reactions to wool in the past, it was likely coarser wool varieties. We recommend trying our merino or cashmere pieces, and always layer with a base layer if you’re particularly sensitive.
Clean all knitwear before storing to remove oils and odors that can attract moths. Fold items carefully and store in breathable cotton storage bags or boxes—never plastic, which can trap moisture. Add natural moth deterrents like cedar blocks or lavender sachets. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For valuable cashmere pieces, consider acid-free tissue paper between folds to prevent creasing. Check your stored items once mid-season to air them out and ensure no issues have developed. Never hang knits long-term as they’ll lose their shape.
